Personal Statement
Some universities and courses put more reliance on your personal statement than others, but you should always assume that it is important. We make considerable use of the personal statement in coming to decisions about you.
There is no single correct way to write your personal statement. The key is that it really should be personal. Course selectors and admissions staff want an insight into your personality and your motivation for having applied to university to study a certain subject.
Find tips and advice on how to write your personal statement.
Processing your application
Short-listed applicants will normally be invited to attend a selection day, including an informal interview, at Warwick to assess their academic potential and commitment to further study. This invitation will usually be sent by email so please ensure that your system is configured to accept messages from @warwick.ac.uk or @wbs.ac.uk.
We receive many applications per year, and we are committed to giving equal consideration to all applications that reach us by the UCAS deadline of January 15. This means that we are not always able to make decisions quickly, so please bear with us if you do not hear immediately. You can rest assured that your application is still under consideration.
You can track the status of your application online, and you will also receive email updates on its progress.
If you gain a place with us
Offers may be conditional on you meeting academic or other requirements. Don't worry about this - many students have conditional offers. Once you have met your conditions, the offer will automatically be made unconditional.
If you are taking A Levels, the International Baccalaureate or pre-Us, we will normally receive your exam results directly from UCAS. However, if you are taking qualifications from a country other than the UK, or UK qualifications such as an Access to HE course or a foundation degree, we will NOT receive these results from UCAS. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your results are sent to us, and we ask you to do this as soon as they are available.
More information about what happens after you apply is available here.
