Programme learning outcomes: 

  • You will be able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of what it takes to make a leadership contribution, and the ways in which the nature of healthcare influences our approach. You will have strategies to review and enhance your personal impact.
  • You will understand how to strengthen your strategic contribution and appreciate the importance, but also the limitations, of strategy in health and care. You will be able to relate this to the significance of collective and systems thinking in health and care.
  • You will understand the characteristics of high performing health and care organisations. You will have been introduced to models that are appropriate to the complex nature of health and care, and its conduct in a context which balances the wide range of relevant drivers and facets of performance.

 

  • You will be able to compare and contrast a range of different national approaches to the finance of healthcare. You will understand key economic concepts of relevance and will be able with confidence to contribute to financial decision making relating to the services in which you are engaged.
  • You will understand the origins of improvement science and how it is being applied in health and care. You will appreciate the relationship between innovation and improvement, and will be introduced to a range of tools of quality improvement that you can deploy in your work.
