Biography

Dr. Leif Brandes is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Behavioural Science at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK. Leif specialises in research on the effect of information on market outcomes. Within this research area, his studies can be classified into work on the provision of information in the form of customer word of mouth, and into work on behavioural responses to market information. In his work, he derives testable predictions from a broad range of theories in psychology and economics, and brings these predictions to data. While he has traditionally applied econometric analyses of secondary field data, his more recent work focuses predominantly on experimental research on (consumer) decision-making and behaviour. Leif's work has appeared in internationally renowned journals such as Management Science, European Economic Review, Marketing Letters, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, European Journal of Marketing, and others. He holds a PhD from University of Zurich, Switzerland and was a postdoctoral fellow for six months at the Yale School of Management, Yale University. Leif also holds a Master in Mathematical Finance from the University of Konstanz, Germany.
