Tell us a bit about yourself and what course you are studying.
Hi, I’m Aashni, a fourth-year student studying International Management with Marketing. I completed a year of study abroad in Singapore and Spain, and I hope to graduate in July 2025.
What attracted you to WBS? Why did you choose to study here?
WBS caught my eye, as it is a well-established and prestigious business school in the UK. Researching further into Warwick and WBS, I discovered the numerous opportunities to study or work abroad as part of my degree which had been a goal of mine for many years.
What is the best thing about your degree?
I think the best thing about my degree is the people I have met throughout my time studying. There are students and staff from all cultures and backgrounds, which creates a lovely environment to be a part of and helps to encourage collaboration between peers.
How have you found having a personal tutor?
I think having a personal tutor has benefited me more than I expected - I have built a strong relationship with my tutor through meetings and conversations throughout my studies. When I needed support, my tutor made time and reassured me when in doubt.
What has inspired you most throughout your studies?
My year abroad was a really inspiring experience! As a student who loves learning about languages and culture, it really broadened my horizons, showing me the number of opportunities that await globally.
What sort of support have you received from the careers team? How has that helped you?
The careers team supported me with finding job vacancies and tailoring my CV, which has been immensely helpful during my time at WBS, as studying while working on job applications can be quite difficult.
Are you a member of any SU clubs or societies? What benefits did you get from that?
I am a member of the Warwick Kpop Society, which has been an inclusive and safe space for those who love the genre of music and has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people.
What do you aim to do once you graduate?
I am looking to find a job after I graduate from WBS, hopefully in the marketing sector!
Do you feel that your degree is preparing you for your next steps?
The modules I have taken during my time at WBS have helped me apply theoretical work in practice and enabled me to have a deeper understanding of how businesses run.
What top tip would you give to prospective undergraduate students who are deciding if WBS is the right place for them?
Follow your instinct! Business is about allowing your mind to open up to new and exciting opportunities, and WBS will nurture you into the person you aim to be!
What top tip would you give to a student who is about to start at WBS?
Try to meet peers that take the same degree and make friends with those in the years above for guidance and direction. It can be super helpful to speak to these people and find out more about the course or specific information on modules. The more people you know, the stronger your network will be!
