What you'll study on your finance postgraduate degree

Our MSc Finance is a one-year, full-time programme designed to develop your understanding of finance while giving you the quantitative and analytical skills to apply it in practice.

Over three terms, you’ll complete seven core modules and three optional modules of your choice. You’ll then complete your studies with either a dissertation or a self-sourced internship.

Core modules cover key areas of finance including asset pricing, corporate finance, investment management, financial econometrics, quantitative methods and data analysis. You’ll also explore ethics, financial regulation and corporate governance, giving you a broader understanding of the responsibilities of finance professionals.

You’ll develop practical experience alongside your academic studies, using programming, quantitative analysis and financial data to conduct empirical research and investigate real financial problems. With a choice of optional modules, you can tailor your studies to your interests and career ambitions.

MSc Finance entry requirements

To earn a place on the MSc Finance at Warwick Business School, you’ll need to demonstrate strong academic excellence and a highly quantitative mindset. We are looking for individuals who are driven by curiosity and capable of inspiring change.

You will need:

• A 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
• A strong quantitative background, with experience in areas such as mathematics, statistics, economics or econometrics
• An interest in finance and the ambition to develop the technical skills needed for a successful career in the sector.

Is MSc Finance right for you?

If you’re ambitious about a career in finance and want to develop advanced quantitative and analytical skills, our MSc Finance could be the right fit for you.

You don’t necessarily need an undergraduate degree in Finance. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in Finance, Economics and Econometrics, as well as quantitative subjects such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science and Engineering.

For applicants with a quantitative degree but limited previous study of Finance, we offer a supplementary Finance course to help you build the additional knowledge needed to succeed on the programme.

Master's degree in finance tuition fees

2027 entry

• UK fee: £38,400
• EY/International fees: £48,000

Your tuition fee covers registration, tuition, examinations and your graduation ceremony. You can pay your fees at the start of the academic year or in instalments. To secure your place, you’ll need to pay a £3,000 deposit within four weeks of receiving your offer. This deposit is part of your total tuition fee, not an additional cost.

What are my funding options?

Scholarships and other funding options are available to help you finance your MSc Finance. Warwick Business School offers a range of Masters scholarships, with awards of up to 50% of tuition fees for eligible candidates. You may also be able to access postgraduate funding or finance your studies through external providers, depending on your circumstances.
