International Women's Day - Changing Faces of Female Influencers

We are delighted to invite you to Warwick Business School's London base at The Shard to celebrate International Women's Day 2016.

With the focus of the day firmly on the female, our inspirational guest speakers will share their thoughts on leadership and the lessons they have learned on their journeys:

12:00 – Presentations, followed by Q&A

Nadine Smith will talk about the diverse nature of roles open to women in UK politics, broadening to more diverse roles for women internationally, drawing on her own experiences and observations.

Claire Horton will cover the pioneering women who influenced key national movements (Marie Curie, Mary Tealby, etc.), discussing how their determination shaped Not For Profit (NFP), public and private sector models, highlighting the common traits in successful women of the past and present.

The post-talk debate will centre around ambition, bias and culture.

Claire Horton
Chief Executive Officer, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Claire joined Battersea in June 2010 with a wealth of experience from both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, with over 15 years’ experience at CEO/Board level. She has lobbied on campaigns that have successfully changed legislation as well as dedicated public awareness campaigns relating to rescue, rehoming issues and general animal care.

Claire holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, is a Fellow of the RSA and the Institute of Directors and in 2015 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Roehampton for services to welfare and the community.

 

Nadine SmithNadine Smith
Global Marketing and Communications Director, Public Sector Practice and Centre for Public Impact, Boston Consulting Group

Nadine is a communications director with 18 years Whitehall/political experience, managing reputational issues, building influential campaigns, leading and implementing strategic communications and stakeholder strategies. A trained journalist, she specialises in crisis management and public inquiries, and is the former Chief Press Officer at the Cabinet Office.


Nadia SoodNadia Sood
Managing Partner, Impact Investment Partners LLP

Nadia Sood founded Impact Investment Partners LLP after a serving in senior communications and corporate social responsibility positions at large multinationals and NGOs, including a period in the Office of the Secretary General Kofi Annan at the United Nations in New York. She has 13 years of experience investing in, managing and operating businesses in developed and emerging markets that provide critical goods and services to mass market consumers, and is an authority on international negotiations and politics.
