The Survivor Personality: From Black Box to White Light

John Peters came to the world's attention in January 1991, when his bruised and battered face flashed onto television screens around the world. On the first day of the Gulf War, a British Tornado bomber crewed by John Peters and John Nichol was shot down over Iraqi territory and the two men were captured. After four days of mental and physical torture, they were forcibly shown on Iraqi television.

This experience catapulted John onto the world stage and he uses these experiences as a metaphor to help leaders question their approach. His life had changed: from Black Box to White Light. This presentation is personal, emotive and challenging. Using his experiences, John will challenge you to reflect upon how you take the initiative and lead from choice rather than reaction, providing a personal view of how you deal with uncertainty and chaos, whilst challenging you to consider how you would deal with crises.

How do you deal with uncertainty and move forward and adapt to life challenges?

Calmly you accept where you are, accept your weaknesses, and it is in that moment you truly understand yourself. Then you begin to win. No should have, could haves… you start to learn and adapt to whatever challenge. We all make mistakes, we are human, but you realise that your power rests in the speed at which you learn…"
