BSc Management with Foundation Year (2015 – 2019)

The Foundation Year helped me settle into university life, develop good relationships with staff and build up my confidence. It was an opportunity to get comfortable with university and the overwhelming feelings with it, building confidence and self-belief.

While at WBS, I accessed various support including well-being, counselling, academic help, and support from the Undergraduate Office, my personal tutor and senior tutor. The support I received helped me a lot, every step of the way – if I needed help, I could ask for it. It is always nice to know you have support available and, when I did use it, it helped me develop and grow.

The people, from staff to friends, and the self-confidence they helped me build within myself is the thing I value most from my university experience. I feel I am now able to progress onto a graduate scheme and pursue further academic study in the future, researching and writing about fashion and sustainability.

My advice for future Foundation Year students is to make the most of it; try everything, and connect with people, including staff across the board. Definitely try societies outside of WBS as well! Enjoy it!
