Biography

Dr Ghadafi Razak is a Houlden Fellow in the Operations Management Group at Warwick Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from Lancaster University, UK. His research interests include innovations in supply chain management and their impact on global supply chain performance. He is currently exploring the forms of traceability among emerging economy suppliers and its impact on enhancing global supply chain resilience and sustainability capabilities. By focusing on the emerging economy context, the study explores how the unique supply chain structures and social characteristics in this context shape the types of risks inherent to the supply chain and their willingness to disclose information on their internal practices. The outputs of this study have been published in internationally excellent journals and presented at recognised conferences including the AoM Annual Meeting, EurOMA conferences and EurOMA Sustainability Forum.

Ghadafi also collaborates with an interdisciplinary research team on a project funded by UKRI-Natural Environment Research Council under the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging Challenge. The project aims to deliver innovative solutions in the drive to eliminate problematic or unnecessary plastic waste by combining insights from consumers, supply chain actors and waste management bodies. As a researcher on the supply chain work package, Ghadafi extensively engaged multi-tier supply chain actors to initiate a holistic drive towards reducing the environmental impact of their plastic packaging through sustainable innovations. The outputs of this project have been presented at the UK Industry and Parliament Trust Dinner, invited talks and panel discussion such as Global Research and Innovation in Plastics (GRIPS) and academic conferences.
