Biography
Lisa is professionally qualified (ICAEW), spent several years in audit practice with Deloitte and was part of the national audit training faculty at KPMG. Lisa specialises in designing and delivering modules on topics related to corporate reporting and audit, from basic financial literacy for non-specialists to advanced courses on topics such as the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Integrated Reporting. Lisa also designs and delivers online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for qualified accountants.
Lisa has strong links with the accountancy professional bodies, and carries out external work for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Before joining Warwick Business School, Lisa was a Senior Teaching Fellow and Programme Director at Aston Business School. In 2015 Lisa was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of her excellence in teaching practice and commitment to building the development of professional skills and competencies into academic teaching.
In 2019, along with colleagues from Aston University and De Montford University, Lisa was shortlisted for the prestigious Finance for the Future Awards, in recognition of developing an educational business simulation incorporating aspects of sustainability.
Lisa is also a qualified coach with the European Coaching and Mentoring Council and she coaches and mentors academics to support them in developing academic identity and acheiving career progression. Lisa has also provided one-to-one coaching to senior finance professionals and entrepreneurs on specific matters impacting their role.
