Speaker biography
Hilary is responsible for the strategy of Sopra Steria UK, which turns over approximately €800 million and is part of the €3.8 billion French listed technology parent. She works for John Torrie, UK CEO and Deputy Group CEO.
Hilary’s career spans technology, consultancy and outsourcing, working in the past for ICL, AT&T (USA), OSI and Siemens. Her technical work includes EU-funded pan-European R&D collaboration (ESPRIT) in data communications.
Hilary has many years’ experience developing strategic and commercial solutions for private and public sector organisations to meet a range of business needs. She was instrumental in Sopra Steria moving into the Business Process Outsourcing market in 2001 and in developing the company’s offshore plans for India.
Hilary sits on the Sopra Steria UK Leadership Board, which is executing a far-reaching new strategy to anticipate the radical shifts in the technology sector. This includes Intelligent Automation, Machine learning and AI, cybersecurity and new Digital Business Models. She is additionally a Trustee Director of four Pension Funds, and a Director of a French company of the Sopra Steria employee shareholders, representing the UK.
Hilary has been an active member of the Indian and UK trade bodies: NASSCOM and TechUK, and takes a strong interest in global business and advancements in technology and their application to real-world problems.
