In 2017, Dr Laura Chamberlain and Faye Neivens launched the Marketing Insight Series to bridge the gap between academia and industry at The University of Warwick. Designed to give attendees a varied insight into the marketing industry and careers they may not have considered beforehand.

Last year, the series welcomed marketing professionals from the Automotive, Finance, FMCG, Retail and Not-for-profit sectors. Join us this year for a chance to meet more marketing professionals, skills workshops and student competitions.

Speaker Biographies

Simon Pearce, Account Director, Procter & Gamble

"I have been at Procter & Gamble for 14 years, occupying various Sales, Trade Marketing and Category roles across this time.  My career has taken me from Surrey, to Geneva, to Cincinnati and back and I have had the pleasure of working on local (UK), regional (European) and Global (from the US, to India, to China) markets across many of our categories.  I now run our Sainsbury’s and Waitrose customer teams, managing a multi-functional team of 35 people, building strong external relationships to profitably grow our mutual businesses.  I love that every day is different at P&G, the responsibility and accountability I was given from day one, and the focus on my personal development, both in working with great people and through the various trainings and support we offer.

Outside of work, I am married to Nicki and have three children – Alex (5), Benjamin (3) and Heidi (1).  I love playing and watching most sports, hiking & skiing, traveling and eating out…. All, of course, when the kids allow me!

Mark Jerdan, Senior National Account Manager, Procter & Gamble

"I started life at P&G in 1997 beginning my career in finance as a category marketing analyst working with consultants such as Roland Berger and TPG Group. This gave me exposure working across a range of major retailers such as Tesco, JS, Asda and Safeway.

I then moved into Sales Working on channel development in the convenience and wholesale sector. I then moved onto the Global Costco team working across the Atlantic between London and Seattle. 2008 saw me broaden my experience into Marketing where I was responsible for co-marketing development between our laundry brands appliance manufacturers across Western Europe. I now run the distributor business in the UK who cover over 450 customers across the entire P&G portfolio.

I’ve been at P&G for 21 years because of the people and the diversity of work – no 2 days are the same"
