Women at midlife are the fastest growing workforce demographic. According to ONS data, there are over 34.5 million women in the UK and over 9.25 million are aged between 40 and 60 (key midlife decades). Midlife is NOT a minority issue.
A 2019 survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found almost 900,000 women in the UK had left their jobs because of menopausal symptoms. This can have an effect not only on the general workforce but on talent pipelines and diversity, and board diversity in particular, if your aspiring female leaders and senior female leaders are leaving.
