AI Leadership programme

AI Leadership programme participant, Nick Beazley, shares his experience at WBS.

My name is Nick Beazley and I work in professional services as a People Change & Transformation Director.

I chose to study the AI Leadership programme at Warwick Business School for three reasons. Firstly, I had consistently heard excellent feedback about the faculty and knew several alumni who spoke highly of the school and their experience. Secondly, I wanted to better understand one of the key leadership questions facing organisations today: how to redesign organisations, workflows and operating models effectively in an AI-enabled environment. Finally, the location at The Shard in London was incredibly convenient, being right next to my office.

Over the past year, I’ve made a conscious effort to become an enthusiastic and curious adopter of AI, exploring practical use cases, new ways of working, and how AI can create value while allowing leaders to focus more on human interaction, judgement and influence. Through my work in Change and Transformation, I had already developed a solid understanding of the organisational impact of AI adoption, but I wanted to deepen that knowledge further in a structured learning environment.

What really stood out about the programme was the opportunity to explore both the practical detail and the wider strategic perspective of AI adoption. Learning alongside experienced professionals from different industries created an open environment to share ideas, discuss challenges, and experiment with building and testing AI agents. Equally valuable was the opportunity to step back and consider the bigger picture of how organisations can approach enterprise-wide transformation and AI adoption in a thoughtful and sustainable way.

My reflections on completing the programme are overwhelmingly positive and optimistic. In many ways, organisations still face the same challenges around leadership, governance, adoption and change management; but AI significantly increases the pace and scale of transformation. The programme provided a clearer framework for how leaders can approach AI-enabled enterprise change with confidence, curiosity and responsibility.

Although the programme covered a huge amount in two days, it never felt overwhelming. If you enjoy collaborative learning, exchanging perspectives with experienced peers, and exploring what it truly means to lead organisations at “AI velocity”, I would highly recommend it.
