Global Online MBA (2025 - 2027)

I am a wealth management professional currently working as a Client Management Associate at Royal Bank of Canada, where I manage high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients. My role sits at the intersection of client relationship management, wealth planning, and regulatory compliance, and I am particularly passionate about using data-driven insights to enhance client outcomes and operational efficiency.

Prior to this, I led treasury investment initiatives at Wema Bank in Nigeria, where I managed institutional and retail portfolios, negotiated investment deals, and supported strategic onboarding of high-value clients. In addition to my professional experience, I have developed strong analytical skills through training in data analytics, utilising tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI to inform decision-making and drive process improvements.

Currently, I am pursuing the Global Online MBA at Warwick Business School, where I am deepening my understanding of leadership, strategy, and organisational behaviour, with a strong focus on driving inclusive and sustainable change within the financial services sector.

What motivated you to apply for the Inspiring Females scholarship?

My motivation to apply for the Inspiring Females scholarship stems from both my personal journey and my long-term ambition to contribute to a more inclusive financial services industry. Having built my career across different markets and environments, I have seen first-hand the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles, particularly within finance and investment management.

The scholarship represents more than financial support, it is a platform that recognises and amplifies the voices of women who are committed to driving change. I was drawn to the opportunity to be part of a community that not only supports female leadership but actively challenges systemic barriers and creates pathways for others to thrive.

What does the scholarship mean to you?

The scholarship is both an enabler and a responsibility. It enables me to fully immerse myself in my MBA experience, pursue leadership opportunities, and invest in personal and professional development without constraint.

At the same time, it represents a responsibility to give back, to mentor, to advocate, and to create opportunities for other women coming behind me. It reinforces my commitment to not only succeed individually but to contribute meaningfully to building a more equitable and inclusive environment within my industry and beyond.

How have you been championing equality, both in industry and within your MBA?

In my professional role, I champion equality by fostering inclusive client engagement and supporting fair access to financial opportunities. I ensure that client solutions are tailored, transparent, and accessible, while also advocating for process improvements that reduce bias and improve efficiency.

Within my MBA, I actively contribute to discussions around diversity, leadership, and organisational culture, bringing perspectives from my experience across different regions and industries. I collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds, challenge assumptions constructively, and support an inclusive learning environment where all voices are heard and valued.

Additionally, I have taken opportunities to mentor and support peers, particularly those transitioning into new industries or navigating unfamiliar environments, reinforcing a culture of collaboration and mutual growth.

How have you been embodying Warwick Business School’s Change Maker values and having an impact on society during your MBA?

Warwick Business School’s Change Maker values are centred on curiosity, openness, and impact principles I actively embody through both my academic work and professional contributions.

During my MBA, I have applied organisational behaviour frameworks and strategic thinking to analyse real-world challenges, particularly in digital transformation and financial services. For example, my work on change management initiatives has focused on addressing structural misalignment and improving stakeholder engagement areas critical to sustainable organisational success.

Beyond academics, I bring a practical lens to discussions, connecting theory to real-world impact, and advocating for solutions that are not only effective but inclusive and ethical. My goal is to leverage the knowledge gained during my MBA to drive meaningful change in financial systems, improving access, transparency, and long-term value creation.

What impact has the scholarship had on your academic and personal goals?

The scholarship has significantly strengthened my ability to pursue my academic goals with focus and confidence. It has allowed me to engage more deeply in my coursework, participate in collaborative projects, and explore areas such as strategy and organisational leadership without financial pressure.

On a personal level, it has reinforced my belief in my potential and the importance of representation. Being recognised through this scholarship has motivated me to aim higher, take on leadership roles, and remain committed to making a meaningful impact in my field.

Do you have any advice to others considering applying for a scholarship?

My advice would be to approach the application with authenticity and clarity of purpose. Focus on your unique journey, your experiences, challenges, and aspirations and how they align with the values of the scholarship.

Be intentional about demonstrating impact, not just achievement. Highlight how you have contributed to others, what you stand for, and how you intend to use the opportunity to create meaningful change.

Finally, don’t underestimate your story. Often, the most compelling applications are those that are genuine, reflective, and grounded in a clear vision for the future.
