Tell us a bit about yourself
I currently work in Liquidity Reporting at one of the banks here in the UK, where I work in a fast-paced environment that requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and collaboration across teams. I've always enjoyed learning and challenging myself, so I decided to pursue the Accelerator MBA* to broaden my business knowledge, strengthen my leadership capabilities, and gain a more strategic perspective. I wanted to complement my technical experience with a wider understanding of how businesses operate and make decisions.
Why did you decide to pursue your MBA at Warwick Business School?
I chose Warwick Business School for a couple of reasons. First, it has an excellent reputation and is a highly prestigious institution. It also holds personal significance for my family. My sister completed her undergraduate degree in Law at the University of Warwick, and my cousin also earned their master's degree there. Because of this, the University of Warwick has become something of a family tradition, making it a natural choice for me.
How are you finding the blended learning format of the MBA?
I find the blended learning format of the MBA really helpful, it works very well for me. I like the balance it offers. Coming to campus (The Shard) every six weeks gives me the opportunity to engage with the lecturers, interact with my classmates, and build meaningful relationships. Then, I can return to my own schedule and continue learning independently, which gives me the flexibility to balance my studies with my other life commitments, like work and family.
What has it been like studying at The Shard?
Studying at The Shard has been a great experience. There's something motivating about coming into such an iconic building, it makes each face-to-face session feel like a special occasion and helps put you in the right mindset for learning. It's an inspiring environment that feels professional and reflects the calibre of the programme. The facilities are excellent, and being in such a modern space creates a positive atmosphere for learning. It also makes the face-to face sessions feel more immersive, as everyone is together, focused on learning, collaborating, and sharing ideas.
Which elements of the MBA programme have you valued the most?
The elements of the programme that I value the most are the modules, my cohort, and the support from the Careers team. The modules have been engaging and highly relevant, giving me practical knowledge that I can apply in my professional role. I appreciate that the learning goes beyond theory and encourages me to think strategically about real business challenges. I've also really enjoyed getting to know my classmates. Everyone comes from different industries and backgrounds, so there's a wealth of experience and perspectives to learn from.
Building these relationships has been one of the most valuable aspects of the programme, and I've been able to expand my professional network while learning from my peers. The Careers team has also been incredibly hands-on and supportive. They've provided practical guidance, resources, and opportunities that have helped me think more intentionally about my career development and future goals. Knowing that this level of support is available throughout the programme has been a real benefit.
What do you hope to gain from our programme?
By the end of the programme, I hope to be equipped with the practical knowledge, skills, and confidence to take the next step in my career. I want to gain a deeper understanding of different areas of business and apply what I've learned in real-world situations. I'm also hoping the MBA will give me greater clarity on the direction I want to take professionally, whether that's moving into a new industry or taking on a more strategic leadership role. Finally, I want to leave the programme with a strong network of talented professionals. Building relationships with my cohort, academics, and the wider Warwick Business School community is something I see as a long-term benefit that will continue well beyond the MBA itself.
What advice would you give to anyone considering a Warwick Business School MBA?
My advice would be to go for it. An MBA is definitely a significant commitment, and there will be times when it feels demanding, especially if you're balancing work, family, and other responsibilities. However, it's absolutely worth it. The programme challenges you to think differently, broadens your perspective, and helps you grow both personally and professionally. If you're willing to put in the effort, you'll gain valuable knowledge, build a strong network, and develop skills that will benefit you long after you've finished the programme.
