Tell us a bit about yourself

I currently work in data, business intelligence and AI, with a focus on using insight and emerging technologies to improve decision-making and create better outcomes for customers. My background is in analytics, and I have worked across areas such as fraud, customer behaviour and GenAI based solution development, which has given me a strong interest in how data can be used responsibly and effectively in large organisations.

Outside of work, I am someone who enjoys learning, challenging myself and connecting with people from different backgrounds. That is one of the reasons I was drawn to the MBA. I want to broaden my understanding of business, strengthen my leadership skills and learn from a diverse cohort while continuing to apply that learning directly in my career.

Why did you choose Warwick Business School for your MBA?

I chose Warwick Business School because, as a Warwick alumnus, I already have a strong connection to the university and know the quality of its academic environment. The part-time hybrid format is ideal for me because it allows me to continue progressing in my career while applying what I learn directly at work. I was also particularly drawn to the AI specialism, as it closely aligns with my work in data, business intelligence and emerging technologies. Alongside this, the programme’s London presence was also important to me, as it offers the opportunity to engage with a strong professional network and learn alongside a diverse and ambitious cohort.

How are you finding the blended learning format of the Part-time MBA (London Accelerator)?

The blended learning format is really effective, and it is working very well for me. I like that it gives me the flexibility to balance the MBA alongside work, while still allowing me to apply what I am learning straight away in a professional context. The online elements are engaging and manageable, and the in-person components add a lot of value by creating space for discussion, networking and deeper cohort connection.

What is it like studying in such an iconic building like The Shard, and how has being in London added to your experience?

Studying at The Shard creates a strong in-person learning experience. The lecture theatres are beautiful, and the syndicate rooms work well for group discussions and collaboration. I think the setting helps make the teaching days feel focused and engaging.

What elements of the programme do you value the most and why?

The elements I value most are the cohort, the modules and the wider WBS network. For me, the cohort is a huge part of the MBA experience. I want to build a strong community with people who support each other, challenge each other and help each other grow. I also really value the opportunity to become more connected to the wider Warwick alumni network.

From a module perspective, I am looking forward to the full range of learning, but I am particularly excited about the overseas modules as I have heard excellent feedback from alumni about these. I think these modules offer a unique opportunity to learn in different academic and cultural contexts.

Tell us about the community at Warwick Business School. This could be your cohort or the wider Global community.

My cohort is incredibly varied, with people from backgrounds including the arts, the military, banking, cyber security and many other industries. It has been really interesting to learn alongside people who bring such different perspectives and experiences. It is great seeing how each person relates the module concepts back to their own sector, role and challenges. It makes the learning feel much richer and helps me think beyond my own professional background.

What do you hope to get out of our programme?

What I hope to get out of the programme is a broader and more strategic understanding of how businesses operate across different departments. I want to strengthen my ability to think beyond my own function and understand how areas such as finance, strategy, operations, marketing and leadership connect to drive business performance. I also hope to build a strong network of peers, academics and alumni who I can learn from, support and rely on throughout my career. Ultimately, I want the MBA to help me better understand how to progress my career with confidence, purpose and a better understanding of the kind of leader I want to become.

How do you find the work/life balance?

I have found the work-life balance good so far. The structure of having dedicated study days every six weeks has really helped, as it gives me focused time to concentrate on the programme.

How has SmartStage been valuable in your MBA teaching? Have there been any benefits for you?

SmartStage has been valuable because it creates a more interactive and engaging teaching experience. I like the format, especially the way it allows remote learning to feel more connected than a standard online lecture. It helps make sessions feel more structured and encourages participation.

Do you have any advice for anyone currently thinking about studying for an MBA?

My advice would be to be clear on why you want to do an MBA and what you want to get out of it. It is a big commitment, so having a clear purpose makes it much easier to stay focused and make the most of the experience. I would also say to choose a format that genuinely works with your lifestyle and career goals. For me, the blended format has been really effective because it allows me to keep working while applying what I learn straight away. Finally, I would encourage people to make the most of the cohort, academics and wider network, because a lot of the value comes not just from the modules, but from the people you learn with.
