WBS CareersPlus and Employer Relations played a big role in helping me reposition my story. They challenged and refined my resume, LinkedIn and pitch, pushing me to focus on outcomes, value creation and leadership impact rather than just responsibilities.​ 

The MBA has helped significantly in achieving my career aims. The mix of core modules, electives and leadership development gave me the commercial breadth and self-awareness needed for my current role, while the WBS network and CareersPlus support created opportunities and conversations that accelerated that transition.​

Since the MBA, I have stepped into a Head of Transactions role in real estate private equity, with responsibility that spans structuring and executing deals, as well as working closely with asset management and capital partners on value creation. The role is more strategic and cross-functional, with a bigger emphasis on leadership, stakeholder management and portfolio thinking.

The MBA was a clear contributing factor: leadership modules, live projects and the diverse cohort all gave me the confidence and tools to operate as a business leader. 

My advice to future Full-time MBAs is to say yes to stretch experiences. Whether it is leading clubs, case competitions, consulting projects and writing publicly, these become powerful stories in your journey ahead. Be explicit about what you want the MBA to change and keep revisiting that. The clearer you are, the easier it is for CareersPlus, faculty and the alumni network to help you get there.
