Biography
Prior to joining Warwick Business School, Dimitrios held roles at Henley Business School and Imperial College London. He has taught leadership globally, including in the UK, Ireland, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, and is currently the Executive Director of the MBA programmes (London, The Shard) at Warwick.
Dimitrios combines academic research with extensive executive education experience, delivering programs and consultancy to organisations such as the Bank of England, Jaguar Land Rover, Emirates, the English NHS, the Department of Health, The Nuffield Trust, Xellia Pharmaceuticals, Britehouse, Belden Inc, Saudi Aramco, First National Bank, (South Africa), Amazon (Germany), and Celgene Corporation.
Through this work, he translates research insights into practical frameworks, helping senior leaders navigate complex organisational challenges, strengthen innovation capabilities, and drive strategic transformation. Across these engagements, Dimitrios supports leaders in developing the skills and mindsets to build high-performing teams, foster innovation, and cultivate leadership capacity at all levels, enabling organisations to respond effectively in complex, fast-changing environments.
Research Interests
Dimitrios is a Professor of Leadership and Innovation with deep expertise in healthcare systems and organisational studies. His research sits at the intersection of leadership and innovation, exploring how effective leadership practices drive organisational performance, strategic change, and innovation in complex environments. He examines (systems) leadership development, innovation adoption, and strategic transformation across healthcare systems, including the UK National Health Service (NHS), as well as healthcare organisations in China, Australia, and the United States.
Dimitrios’ research has been published in leading academic journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing both theoretical understanding and practical application in leadership and innovation. His work bridges the gap between scholarship and practice, offering evidence-based insights that inform leadership development, organisational strategy, and innovation in highly regulated and dynamic industries worldwide. Dimitrios is at present on the editorial board of Human Relations.
