Why study MSc Marketing & Strategy at Warwick?
Current MSc Marketing & Strategy student, Shreenidhi Nagda, sat down to chat to us about her current Warwick Business School journey.
Studying at one of the best business schools in the UK has given me the perfect blend of a vibrant campus life, a vast alumni and industry network, a diverse student community, and a world-class curriculum.
The faculty is absolutely brilliant, combining their industry experience and knowledge to deliver in-depth lectures and workshops. Since the faculty itself is so diverse in experience and cultures, they all have multiple perspectives which broaden our horizons tremendously and fuel critical thinking.
The WBS building is extremely well equipped, from the café with cosy study spaces to a dedicated Postgraduate Learning Space, where we can do focused work. Most importantly, WBS fosters an environment that fuels personal and professional growth, constantly encouraging us to be the best versions of ourselves.
Why choose MSc Marketing & Strategy?
The MSc Marketing & Strategy course offers us a comprehensive blend of theory and practice. The modules build our theoretical knowledge in areas such as Strategic Management or Design Thinking, while also giving us the opportunity to develop skills applicable in the professional world, such as using software’s such as R for marketing analytics or Semrush for social media marketing.
The course seamlessly combines the disciplines of marketing and strategy, which are highly interdependent on each other. We gain skills and knowledge that not just equip us to work in various fields of marketing but also move up to higher, strategic roles in companies - thus enhancing our career opportunities.
Furthermore, we are offered the Business in Practice route, which throws us into an engaging and intensive business stimulation in our final term. When working with students from different courses and making strategic decisions as finance or marketing managers, we get further prepared for life after university.
What is there to do at Warwick?
I have been fortunate to have connected with people from different walks of life and cultures. Some have come in with years of work experience while some have come straight after their undergraduate studies, which leads to an enriching learning experience. The cohort is so supportive of each other while being healthily competitive, which encourages us to do our best holistically.
While there were some challenges settling into a new country initially, Warwick now feels like home.
Away from studies, I’ve had the opportunity to work as the Marketing Postgraduate Representative for the Warwick Real Estate and Construction Society, join an entrepreneurship workshop cohort, attend cultural events organised by the Warwick Indian Society and make some of the kindest friends. It’s given me memories of a lifetime already, and I can’t wait for what's to come in the next few months.
While here exploring the campus is a must. The 750-acre area has so much to offer, from scenic walks along the lakeside area to the amazing cafés and restaurants. I love exploring student exhibits at the Faculty of Arts building or just sitting around the Piazza, watching the buzz of students around food carts or society stalls.
Having lived in a crowded city my entire life, Warwick’s campus gives me so much peace while being exhilarating at the same time. It feels like you’re in a never-ending Disneyland!
Best advice for a Master’s student
You need to always be proactive. Engage not just with the academic content but make full use of all the opportunities Warwick has to offer; from the networking events, skill building sessions to the society fairs and cultural festivals.
Don’t stay limited to your academics or immediate circle. Warwick has such a wide variety of societies, from baking to music to real estate - you will definitely find something you are passionate about. Get involved, apply for leadership roles and attend events. It will build your confidence and your network.
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, and don’t be afraid to reach out to your friends or professors. There are various wellbeing activities offered by WBS, utilise those as much as possible.
Make the most out of every experience you get and enjoy Warwick to the fullest. The year will fly by before you know it!
