Five benefits of the Global Online MBA
If you’re looking for a way to advance your career and increase your business knowledge and leadership skills without stepping out of work, our flexible part-time Global Online MBA programme could be just what you are looking for. Here, participants of the Global Online MBA discuss the fantastic benefits of the programme.
Flexible 24/7 learning
Olga Bezlyudova: Being a mum of three small kids and working full-time, my schedule is permanently tight, which is why online learning was the only possible option for me. WBS provides great flexibility in its Global Online MBA. You can attend live online classes or catch up on recorded lectures, complete an MBA degree within two years (or extend this period if needed), learn online or take face-to-face modules, and choose whether to take one or two electives per quarter.
Noor Hussain: Studying online offers me many advantages, foremost among them being flexibility. Online learning has revolutionised the traditional education paradigm by enabling me to study at my own pace. This flexibility proves invaluable for me juggling multiple responsibilities, allowing me to integrate education seamlessly into my life.
Corban Quiqq: WBS has perfected the right balance of independent study with live lectures and group activities that gave me incredible flexibility to engage as much or as little as I was able to. One of the primary reasons I selected WBS over other online MBA programmes, was because they offered independent study in tandem with group projects and assignments, compared to some institutions that were 100% online and without ‘live’ interactions.
An innovator and digital leader
Noor Hussain: Embracing new technologies in the online learning landscape, such as the lightboard (technology that brings lectures and presentations to life), enhances the overall learning experience for me. The lightboard facilitates dynamic and engaging presentations, making complex concepts more accessible.
Moreover, the virtual learning environment offers unique networking opportunities. WBS often hosts virtual events, webinars, and collaborative projects, providing me with the chance to connect with peers, professionals, and experts from around the globe. This interconnectedness fosters a sense of community, exposes me to diverse perspectives, and broadens my understanding of global business practices.
Corban Quigg: I am a visual learner and have appreciated the ease of navigation of my.wbs, as each learning module has been packed with diagrams, reference links, videos, lectures, and transcripts, to allow me the flexibility to review more complex lectures and ideas through multiple means.
Noella Kemigisa: When studying online, the learning platform is user friendly and allows for collaboration and engagement.
World-leading, practical teaching
Becky Coates: There is a good balance between the core modules, which cover a broad range of business areas from Leadership to Operations Management, and the opportunity to select some electives tailored to your preferences. The course content is engaging and extremely relevant to day-to-day business and you really feel that your perspectives and horizons are broadening with each module completed.
Nyema Ndu-Iheme: The programme's emphasis on innovative teaching methods, commitment to excellence, and personal development support was a strong pull. The tutors for each module in the programme and the teaching methodology were all unique, and, in many ways, exceptional. Their approachable nature and readiness to support each student individually has significantly enhanced my learning experience.
Andrea Lim: Each module has been extremely relevant and directly useful to my daily tasks, allowing me to seamlessly integrate academic ideas into my professional life. This practical application ensures that I am constantly contributing value to my organisation and the companies we support.
Face-to-face learning
Oladoyin Adelowotan: The Residential Week brings groups of students to WBS from all corners of the globe. These are two seperate weeks where we all come together as a cohort to integrate and collaborate with our lectures, work together as a syndicate, brainstorm on group work, and attend social events. Students get to know each other beyond the classroom environment and develop lifelong relationships. The different unique cultures, diversity, perspectives, and experiences made the Residential Week dynamic and enriching.
Tosh Asaoka: My highlight at the Residential Week was connecting with my cohort outside of classrooms. The WBS Global Online MBA is made up of students from around the world and across different sectors. Getting to know them on a personal level has truly broadened my perspective and given me an appreciation of the diversity of the student body.
Paolo Barile: The Residential Week wasn't just all about networking. We were also taught the first lessons of the Operations Management module, where the teaching staff worked hard at fostering engaging and dynamic participation to the lessons, encouraging us to share our experiences and even providing examples where many, if not all, of us could relate to, which I realise is not an easy task with an audience coming from all over the world.
A global community
Dean Wilson: While I've worked across multiple countries, with many different cultures and languages, working within an online group on this global MBA has truly been the most diverse experience of my career. This is also the reason why I chose the programme- the sun never sets on the WBS MBA classroom.
Peter Tautscher: The community at WBS is fantastic, with extremely diverse cohorts in each year.
Becky Coates: I can safely say that I have never experienced environments with such diverse perspectives, backgrounds, careers, and knowledge as I have during those days on campus, and it is incredibly enriching to exchange ideas and views with my fellow students.
