Adi Pandey – Full-time MBA
What motivated you to apply for the Change Maker - Impact in your Society scholarship?
I applied for the Change Maker Scholarship because it aligns with my core motivation: to champion the ethical, effective, and sustainable use of technology. In the next phase of my career, I hope to advise both start-ups and enterprises on how they can use AI and enterprise technology not just for efficiency, but for positive societal transformation.
What does the scholarship mean to you?
The scholarship is more than financial support; it’s a mark of trust. It affirms that Warwick sees potential in not just what I’ve done, but who I want to become. It’s a reminder that I have a responsibility to give back, amplify the voices of those less represented in tech, and remain grounded in values even as I aim for excellence. It has instilled a deeper sense of purpose in my MBA journey.
How have you been championing society, both in industry and within your MBA?
Throughout my career in cybersecurity, I’ve worked to help organisations build cyber resilience and promote sustainable technology adoption.
Within the MBA, I’ve extended this ethos by serving as Vice President of the AI Learning Circle. Our mission is to promote AI literacy from a business perspective, bridging the gap between technological potential and practical application.
What impact has the scholarship had on your academic and personal goals?
The scholarship has enabled me to fully immerse myself in the MBA experience, without the distraction of financial stress. It’s given me space to go beyond the curriculum, attending events, revisiting coding languages, and giving time to cherished hobbies like playing chess, and building meaningful relationships across diverse cohorts.
Do you have any advice for others considering applying for a scholarship?
Writing your application can be a soul-searching experience. You may start with a clear idea of your goals, but as you engage with the questions, you’re pushed to reflect more deeply on your values, purpose, and vision. My advice? Be authentic. Don’t just focus on how strong your CV is! Focus on how open you are to growth and how you plan to contribute. And if you’re from a non-traditional background, embrace it. At Warwick, diversity of thought, experience, and ambition is celebrated, not tolerated. Use the application to show how you live the CORE values, and your story will speak volumes.

What motivated you to apply for the Change Maker – Impact in your Society scholarship?
The scholarship’s mission reflects my own: using business as a force for good. In my career I’ve seen how design decisions shape inclusion, resilience and opportunity. Whether applying evidence-led research to urban change or embedding social value in bids, my focus has always been about people and place. It was a chance to connect creative practice with strategic skills and amplify my contribution through an MBA.
I also wanted to join a community of Change Makers committed to reshaping industries for better outcomes and to show that design-led leadership can drive real social impact.
What does the scholarship mean to you?
Receiving this scholarship has been both humbling and motivating. It tells me that balancing creativity with business acumen matters and that my voice has value in conversations about leadership and change. It allows me to immerse fully in my MBA journey, encouraging me to take risks, explore new industries and use my platform to influence others.
How have you been embodying Warwick Business School’s CORE Change Maker values and having an impact on society during your MBA?
Curiosity drives me to link design, economics and digital innovation. Openness encourages me to learn from my multinational upbringing and my cohort’s diverse perspectives. Restlessness pushes me to challenge the status quo in urban regeneration while Excellence keeps me focused on delivering innovative outcomes. During my MBA, I am acting as a bridge between creative and commercial disciplines, using my assignments to show how strategic design-led thinking can unlock solutions.
What impact has the scholarship had on your academic and personal goals?
The scholarship has broadened my horizons. Academically, it motivates me to excel in areas like financial management, leadership development and stakeholder governance, skills that strengthen and expand my design background. Personally, it has reinforced my belief that I can blend creativity with strategy to pursue bold careers that deliver positive impact for people and places. Most importantly the recognition inspires me to think globally: to use the MBA as a platform for reshaping industries and fostering sustainable, inclusive and resilient growth.
Do you have any advice to others considering applying for a scholarship?
Be authentic: share the “why” behind your journey, the values that guide you and the impact you’ve already made. Scholarships celebrate potential as much as success so show how your vision for the future aligns with Warwick’s Change Maker ethos. Be specific and highlight moments where you created value for others even in small ways. Your uniqueness and commitment to positive change are what matter most.
Bat-ider Batbayer - Full-time MBA
What motivated you to apply for the Change Maker - Impact in your Society scholarship?
Growing up in a country of only three million people, whenever I travel or meet new people, I often end up being the first Mongolian they’ve ever met. That comes with pride and responsibility. I want to show that our small population can compete globally.
When I first heard about the WBS Change Maker values, I saw an opportunity not only to further my education but also to shine a spotlight on the untapped talent and spirit of innovation in my homeland. I wanted a platform to share what we’re building and, hopefully, inspire the next wave of Change Makers back home.
What does the scholarship mean to you?
This scholarship is more than financial support, it’s a symbol of hope for me. It’s also a reminder that someone out there sees the value in what I’ve been trying to build in Mongolia. With this support, I’ve been able to fully immerse myself in the MBA experience. I’ve been able to think bigger, challenge myself more, and start mapping out how I’ll bring this knowledge home in practical, impactful ways.
How have you been championing society, both in industry and within your MBA?
Back home, I founded B-Tech, a cybersecurity and IT consulting firm dedicated not just to protecting organisations, but to empowering everyday citizens. I also co-founded OMind, which supports students with university applications, mental-health check-ins, and essay coaching, especially important for families where parents work long hours.
In my MBA classes, my classmates blow me away with their energy, creativity, and teamwork. Watching them collaborate, challenge ideas respectfully, and deliver high-quality work has inspired me to push myself further and to bring that same rigor and curiosity back to Mongolia.
How have you been embodying Warwick Business School’s Change Maker values?
Change rarely happens overnight. For me, it’s about showing up every day with empathy, openness, and a willingness to learn. At WBS, I’ve tried to embody that by staying true to my values, participating actively, and contributing real-world insights from my experience. I’ve also started thinking long-term: how to scale our mental health service, how to build digital literacy programmes, and how to guide young students toward careers they may never have thought possible.
What impact has the scholarship had on your academic and personal goals?
This scholarship has allowed me to deeply focus on my academic and future path without financial worry. Personally, it’s helped me see that my dreams aren’t so far out of reach. I now feel like I belong in these global conversations. More than anything, it’s helped me grow emotionally, intellectually, and professionally.
Do you have any advice for others considering applying for a scholarship?
Yes: be honest, be proud of where you come from, and don’t underestimate the power of your story. You don’t need to have all the answers. What matters is that you care deeply about something, and you’re willing to take action. You don’t have to be perfect, just be real. And I think if you're doing work that helps others, you are already making an impact.
