Reflections on the Part-time MBA (London Accelerator)

22 May 2026

Part-Time MBA (London Accelerator) participant Viktor Didenchuk shares his experience on completion of the programme. He describes how the MBA provided the structured, boardroom-ready knowledge he was seeking, alongside opportunities for academic exploration, personal growth, and career development.

I had started and sold a startup and spent years in managerial roles, but I had never received formal business education. My goal going into the Part-Time MBA (London Accelerator) was simple: to gain structured, diverse knowledge in areas I wouldn’t have explored on my own.

Building board-room ready knowledge

Looking back, that’s exactly what I got. Over the course of the programme, especially through the dissertation, I built a broad understanding of the core topics needed to succeed in business. As one of our professors put it, MBA knowledge is what you need in the boardroom. You may not have deep expertise in every subject, but you can confidently follow discussions, ask the right questions, and go deeper when needed.

A journey of discovery and academic growth

The past two years have also been a process of discovery. I developed new interests in leadership theory and organisational behaviour, while realising that some areas are simply not for me. My dissertation focused on leadership in times of polycrisis. Beyond the academic side, it gave me the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the people I interviewed and to engage in insightful discussions with my supervisor, peers, and industry professionals.

One unexpected highlight was the Marketing module. I had never been particularly interested in it before, but the way it was taught completely changed my perspective and made it one of the most engaging parts of the programme.

The power of CareersPlus

Career-wise, the impact across the cohort has been significant. Many of us have changed roles, progressed in our careers, or pivoted entirely. The MBA wasn’t the sole factor, but it certainly played an important role. The business school’s career support stood out in particular. It went far beyond generic advice, offering meaningful coaching and practical interview preparation.

The value of community

On a personal level, one of my goals was to build a network in London after recently moving here. The cohort played a huge role in that. We’ve remained in close contact, and I’ve made friendships that I expect will last well beyond the MBA. From overseas modules to social events, the experience was as much about people as it was about learning.

Final thoughts

Knowing what I know now, I would absolutely make the same decision to study an MBA at Warwick again. The programme continues to evolve, and the programme team has been highly responsive to feedback, which gives me confidence that future cohorts will have an even better experience. If I had to give one piece of advice to incoming students, it would be to engage with the CareersPlus team from day one.
