The focus of design science research in operations management includes operational practices and management interventions. The focal practice or intervention as such may be the contribution, but need not be. There are many different avenues for researchers to contribute to the life-cycle of a design research topic. In this talk Jan Holmström will present three examples of developing publishable design research papers on operations management topics at different stages of maturity. The focal practices of the examples are additive manufacturing in the supply chain, delivery of home care, and information sharing in product introductions.
