Our Change Maker Series invites inspiring guest speakers and alumni from a diverse range of sectors and industries to share first-hand leadership experience and exclusive insights, to inspire transformational thinking and to deepen understanding of the intricacies of business and management from a leadership and practictioner perspective.
We are delighted to welcome Anna Barsby to The Shard on Friday 8 March 2019. Anna will share the story of her journey from Art History graduate and Warwick MBA alumna to CIO in a major supermarket. Anna will also touch upon working in a male dominated IT industry, and balancing the demands of being a working parent.
Speaker Biography
Anna Barsby describes herself as a transformation leader who has delivered significant change across different industries. Her most recent role as the Chief Technology Director at Morrisons focused on the technology opportunities which provided business growth, and encouraged key skills and people to the supermarket retailer as part of her ambitious improvement plans.
Anna has worked in a number of FTSE100, FTSE250 and regulatory organisations at a senior level, and has led business transformation programmes involving major offshoring, re-organisations, process improvement and digital, data and cloud step change. She is a people-centred leader with core strengths in strategy, delivery creativity and customer focus.
A judge for 'Everywoman in Technology' and 'Women in IT' awards, Anna was also a finalist for the European CIO of the Year in 2015, ranked number 1 in the CIO list in 2014, winner of the 'CIO of the Year' 2014 at the Women in IT awards and ranked in the Top 15 Innovative Influencers in Retail today in 2018.
