MSc Management of Information Systems & Digital Innovation (2022-2023)

I am currently working in IT Vendor Management at NFU Mutual, a UK insurance company. I work closely with external tech partners and internal teams to ensure we get the best performance, service and value from our suppliers. It is a great mix of strategy, relationship management, procurement, and understanding how technology supports wider business functions.

The MSc itself was a turning point for me. Coming from a non-technical background, I was a bit nervous at first, however, the course struck the perfect balance between business strategy and technical understanding. Modules like Digital Business Strategy, Managing Digital Innovation and Enterprise Information Systems helped me see how organisations navigate digital transformation and leverage data systematically.

More technical modules like Data Analytics & AI and Programming Solutions gave me a solid foundation in tech. This blend gave me the confidence to pursue roles at the intersection of business and IT, which I am loving every bit of!

What I loved most about the course was the diverse cohort. The opportunity to learn from classmates with varied experiences, backgrounds and perspectives. The group projects, late-night study sessions and coffee chats between lectures made the whole experience more meaningful and enjoyable! It really expanded the way I approach and think about things. It was not just about academic learning but personal growth.

If I had to describe my time at WBS in one word, it would be “transformative.” I made lifelong friends, gained practical and academic skills and grew in confidence both personally and professionally.
