Biography

Dr. Li is an assistant professor at Warwick Business School. Prior to WBS, she worked at various universities in the UK, the US, and China. She was trained in the PhD program at the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned her PhD from Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School, City, St. George's, University of London). She also holds a Master's in Research from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has researched various organizations and sectors, including independent film festivals, quasi-social movements, student associations, FinTech start-ups, accelerator programs, Big Four consultancies, angel investment networks, and the private parking industry. Her qualitative work takes a social practice theory approach, and she has also published on methodological issues.

Research Interests

Grounded in practice theory, Dr. Li's research focuses on strategy issues in established and nascent organizations. She has a special interest in how organizations and their members know, learn, and communicate to accomplish their goals. She publishes conceptual, empirical, and methodological papers as a generalist-specialist on practices, processes, and how everything connects.
