Biography

Siamak Naderi is an Assistant Professor in the Information Systems Management and Analytics (ISMA) group at Warwick Business School. His research sits at the intersection of operations research, mathematical optimisation, and data-driven decision-making, with a particular focus on two applied domains: healthcare and pharmaceutical analytics, and retail supply chain analytics.

In healthcare, his work addresses scheduling and optimisation challenges in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, including personalised cell therapy production. This research was conducted as part of an EPSRC-funded project in collaboration with UCL and several major pharmaceutical companies. In retail, his work focuses on inventory management, markdown optimisation, and transshipment decisions for large retail networks, with findings published in the International Journal of Production Economics and the International Journal of Production Research.

Alongside his academic work, Siamak has substantial industry experience. He spent four years as a consultant for LC Waikiki, one of Turkey's largest fashion retailers, developing and implementing large-scale optimisation models to support inventory decisions across their store network. This combination of academic rigour and practical application shapes both his research agenda and his approach to teaching.

At WBS, Siamak teaches across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, covering mathematical programming, optimisation models, business analytics, and pricing analytics. He places strong emphasis on Python-based implementation and equipping students to apply analytical methods to real business problems.

Siamak is an active member of the UK operational research community. Over the past five years, he has served as programme organiser and session scheduler for several annual conferences of the Operational Research Society, contributing to the organisation of one of the UK's leading academic gatherings in the field.
