Biography
Zhifang Zhang is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, where she has held positions since 2019. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University Management School (pass with no corrections), following an MRes in Accounting and Financial Management (Distinction, ranked 1st) from Lancaster and an MSc in Management Science (Distinction) from the London School of Economics. Her research has been published in leading journals including Management Science, Corporate Governance: An International Review, the British Journal of Management, and the Journal of Corporate Finance.
Research Interests
Zhifang's research spans corporate governance, executive compensation, and financial accounting, with a focus on how managerial characteristics and institutional contexts shape firm behaviour and outcomes. She examines topics including CEO pay design, executive cultural background and foreign experience, financial reporting quality, income smoothing, and interdisciplinary questions bridging accounting, corporate finance, and international business.
