Climbing higher: Warwick Business School's Executive MBA is one of the best in the world for career progress
The Executive MBA at Warwick Business School has been ranked eighth in the world for career progress by the Financial Times.
It comes after the Executive MBA was ranked in the world’s top 10 by higher education analysts QS, and the School broke into the world's top 20 for open Executive Education courses.
Overall WBS was ranked fifth in the UK, 34th globally and 18th in Europe in the Financial Times Executive MBA 2025 Rankings, with the School’s strong showing in career advancement – a key metric for participants – illustrating how it continues to deliver a world-class and transformative education.
Andy Lockett, Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Dean of WBS, said: “We are proud to be recognised among the top 10 globally for career progress.
“This reflects the impact our Executive MBA has on students’ professional careers and how it can be used as a catalyst for change.
“As a School for the Change Makers and with a global network of more than 63,000 alumni across 176 countries, we open doors that span industries, borders, and career stages.”
The Financial Times ranking assesses business schools across multiple dimensions, including salary increase, career progression, diversity, and the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) into its curriculum. WBS rose 24 places to 21st globally for ESG, which reflects the School’s focus on sustainability and ethical leadership.
And with the world moving into the AI age, WBS has created a new Digital and AI specialism for the Executive MBA, aimed at non-technical managers and senior leaders so they can prepare their team and organisation for applying the emerging technology to improve their operations and strategic success.
It joins existing specialisms in Social and Environmental Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare.
The Executive MBA can be studied at the School’s Warwick campus or at WBS London at The Shard, which recently celebrated its 10th year at the iconic building.
An Executive MBA with ESG impact
Since 2015 WBS London has welcomed thousands of students from across the globe, with 110 nations represented on the various MBA programmes held at The Shard alone. The Executive MBA and Global Online MBA were recently joined at The Shard by the Accelerator MBA, a two-year part-time course that blends face-to-face with online teaching to fit around aspiring leaders’ careers.
Hossam Zeitoun, Reader of Strategy and Behavioural Science and Course Director for the Executive MBA, said: “Our Executive MBA continues to empower participants to make meaningful change. The rise in our ESG ranking and sustained career progress performance show that our programme is not only academically rigorous but also deeply relevant to today’s business challenges.
“We remain focused on delivering high-impact education that equips executives to lead with purpose and agility. The School’s performance in the Financial Times’ rankings underscores both its resilience and commitment to continuous improvement.”
