Ranking success: WBS Undergraduates are among the most sought after by employers

Warwick Business School has secured second place nationally for its Undergraduate programmes in Accounting & Finance and Business, Management and Marketing.

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 scored WBS 99.5 out of 100 for Accounting & Finance, which covers the School’s BSc Accounting & Finance degree, and 99.2 for Business, Management and Marketing after assessing the School’s BSc Management and BSc International Management. And this year the School has added BSc Management with Marketing and the BSc International Management with Marketing to its roster.

The University of Warwick has also been named the Midlands University of the Year and Highly commended Russell Group University of the Year by The Times, with Warwick ranked eighth in the country.

It follows The Guardian University Guide Rankings 2026 naming WBS second in the UK for Accounting & Finance and third for Business & Management, while the School also topped the National Student Survey rankings among Russell Group institutions for the fourth consecutive year.

Andy Lockett, Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Dean of WBS, said: “This is another hugely impressive showing in the national rankings and illustrates the School’s commitment to academic excellence alongside industry relevance.

“We attract the best academics from around the world and their cutting-edge research feeds into our courses. We also consult with the leading companies in finance and business to make sure our students have the most up-to-date knowledge and tools to not only hit the ground running when they start their career, but thrive and excel.

“As a School for the Change Maker, we strive to unlock potential and transform aspiration into action.”

New BSc Economics and Management degree

In Business, Management, and Marketing WBS scored 90 out of 100 for teaching quality and 91.9 for student experience, while its research in the subjects was ranked fifth in the country by The Times.

As well as its four management degrees, the School runs a host of joint degrees, including a new course where WBS has teamed up with the University of Warwick’s Economics department – rated number one in the country by The Times – to deliver the BSc Economics and Management programme.

In Accounting & Finance student experience was rated 94.9 out of 100 by The Times, with teaching quality 90.9 and graduate prospects 90. The School’s BSc Accounting & Finance leads to exemptions from professional accountancy exams, including those from the ICAEW and ACCA.

Mark Johnson, Professor of Operations Management and Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programmes), said: “The Times ranking confirms the School’s position as one that attracts the best students and provides them with the opportunity, skills and knowledge to start their careers at some of the biggest companies in the world, such as Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Procter & Gamble and Microsoft.

“We also give students the chance to take a placement year, where they can apply their new knowledge and build relationships that can help them get a head-start in a highly competitive jobs market.

“Our careers department offers tailored careers support, including coaching, workshops, employer events, and access to internships with top global brands.

“Throughout the year, we host sector-specific careers fairs and employer-led sessions focused on placements, internships, and graduate roles, helping students prepare for successful careers across a wide range of industries.”
