Executive Diploma in Strategic Leadership participant, Sean Rose, shares his experience on the programme.

It seems impossible... until it is done.

Last month I was lucky enough to graduate from Warwick Business School from their Executive Education in Strategic Leadership.

It was such a surreal day that I never thought would happen - stepping back into the Shard where the classes were taught brought back all those feelings I had on the very first day.

Back at the start, I was so nervous that I was not going to fit in and that all the other people on the course would be so much more advanced than me and wouldn’t take me seriously. In my head, the fact I was under 30 was going to be a huge barrier to connecting with the cohort.

I was so wrong - the group were the most lovely people who I connected with instantly... we had many days where we learnt lots together and many more nights out where we learned much more.

It blew me away being welcomed as an equal by these senior leaders from not just across the UK. But across the World… we ate together, we learned together but most importantly we laughed together and shared our goals, fears and family lives.

The course itself was impactful - but being accepted into this group, with these people was genuinely special. I walk away from this experience not just with the certificate to say I completed all that hard work... but with a peer group of experienced people who I can now call friends.

The course is done - but the learning continues.
