Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Personally, I am a working mother of one who, after my child became more independent, decided to take a long-awaited step in my personal development by undertaking the Executive MBA at Warwick Business School.
Professionally, I am a Global Category Manager responsible for raw material procurement contracts at Kelvion, a global provider of thermal solutions for a wide range of industries, including high-tech applications. I am highly passionate about my role, and participation in the company’s Women’s Mentoring Programme in 2024 gave me the confidence to take the next step in advancing my career.
What motivated you to apply for the Inspiring Females scholarship?
My motivation stems from participating in my company’s Women’s Mentoring Programme, where I was inspired by the courage and perseverance of my female colleagues. I witnessed how committed they were to their professional roles and how challenging it can be to balance career progression with motherhood, an experience that resonated strongly with me. Through this programme, I realised that I am not alone in striving to succeed both professionally and personally.
What does the scholarship mean to you?
This scholarship is immensely meaningful to me, as it enables my professional development and broadens my horizons. It has also strengthened my motivation to continue investing in my personal growth. As a result, I have become more confident and proactive at work, particularly in putting forward my ideas and contributing more openly in discussions with senior colleagues.
How have you been championing equality, both in industry and within your MBA?
I champion equality by actively supporting development, visibility, and inclusion - both for myself and for others. In industry, I have invested in my professional growth to demonstrate what is possible through capability and commitment, while also seeking mentorship to benefit from diverse perspectives and informal knowledge sharing. I have obtained Chartered Status with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and am currently preparing my application for Fellowship.
Equally important to me is giving back. I now volunteer as a mentor through Kelvion’s Mentoring Programme, supporting others in building confidence and navigating career progression, particularly those who may face similar challenges to my own.
Within my MBA, I contribute actively in class discussions and make a conscious effort to foster an inclusive environment where different viewpoints are encouraged and valued. By doing so, I aim to help create a learning culture in which everyone feels confident to participate and be heard.
How have you been embodying Warwick Business School’s Change Maker values and having an impact on society during your MBA?
I embody Warwick Business School’s Change Maker values by actively contributing to an inclusive and collaborative learning environment. I participate openly in class discussions, believing that no question is insignificant, and I encourage others to share their perspectives with confidence.
By fostering open dialogue and ensuring that diverse viewpoints are heard, I aim to contribute to a learning culture based on respect, inclusion, and mutual support. Through these everyday actions, I seek to create positive impact by empowering others to engage, challenge ideas, and develop the confidence needed to drive meaningful change beyond the classroom.
What impact has the scholarship had on your academic and personal goals?
Without the scholarship, I would not have been able to pursue my studies. Even during the MBA application process, I knew that without financial support I would be unable to accept an offer. Receiving the scholarship therefore felt transformative, as it enabled me to dream bigger and set ambitious goals for my future - both academically and professionally.
Do you have any advice to other considering applying for a scholarship?
Do not doubt your worthiness for a scholarship. Be honest, share your story with the admissions team, and trust in what you have achieved so far.
