Global Online MBA (2025-2027)

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and work for a multinational investment organisation that invests in technology companies. I head up the Data, Insights and Analytics division, and my career has been a journey through the full software development lifecycle - from starting as a computer programmer to serving as CIO and now leading analytics across the group.

Why I chose Warwick Business School

I chose WBS for my Global Online MBA because of its world-class reputation as one of the top-ranked distance learning MBAs globally. The international curriculum aligned perfectly with my aspirations, and the diverse, global cohort has made the learning experience truly rich and valuable.

The Shard experience

Studying at The Shard in London was a phenomenal experience - both nostalgic and inspiring. I’d previously worked in London Bridge, so returning there for ResidentialWeek felt special. The week offered a fantastic opportunity to meet the cohort in person, strengthen relationships, and learn collaboratively in such an iconic setting.

Flexible and engaging online learning

The online learning format has been excellent. It allows me to balance study with work and family commitments while progressing at my own pace. The my.wbs platform is intuitive and comprehensive - providing everything I need, from progress tracking to resources and support.

Academic depth and global perspective

The modules are deep and well-structured, offering both breadth and insight into core business disciplines. The international cohort adds immense value - learning from peers with diverse professional backgrounds has been one of the highlights. The Residential Weeks complement this perfectly, creating meaningful connections and real-world context.

Real-world impact

Studying for an MBA is challenging but deeply rewarding. It requires discipline and consistency, but the knowledge gain is extraordinary and immediately applicable to my work. The Warwick community - from lecturers to support staff - has been exceptional, and the career support team provided insightful one-on-one guidance that helped me refine my professional goals.

Leadership and personal growth

For me, the MBA is about knowledge gain - broadening my perspective beyond technology into business, strategy, and leadership. The “Leadership of Self” session with MindFlick was particularly impactful, helping me understand my strengths, biases, and growth areas. I’ve already seen tangible benefits in both my professional and personal life.

Looking ahead, I’m exploring multiple paths - entrepreneurial ventures, expanded leadership within my organisation, and potential international opportunities. Whatever direction I take, the MBA has equipped me with the tools, perspective, and confidence to move forward.

Advice to future students

To anyone considering the Warwick MBA, I’d say this: be ready to commit and stay disciplined - but it’s absolutely worth it. My reason was simple: you don’t know what you don’t know. The knowledge, experience, and community I’ve gained have been invaluable. No regrets - only gratitude.
