Biography
Mohammad H. Tavakoli is a PhD candidate in Marketing at Warwick Business School. His path into marketing research began with a BSc in Chemical Engineering, followed by an MBA and an MRes in Management Sciences, before he was awarded a full scholarship to pursue an MRes and PhD in Marketing at Warwick — a journey reflecting a long-standing curiosity about how people think, decide, and behave.
Before Warwick, Mohammad worked in Iran's technology industry as a data and business analyst at two of the country's largest technology companies, sharpening his interest in how data reveals human behaviour at scale.
During his MRes and PhD, Mohammad has developed expertise in computational text analysis and causal inference, methods he applies to understand how language reveals psychological patterns in consumers. His published research examines emotional bias in financial decision-making, and his current work studies how the way people communicate shapes both interpersonal outcomes and broader market dynamics, alongside developing new methods for drawing reliable causal conclusions from real-world business data.
