Alumni Careers Manager Konstantina Dee tells us about Alumni Empowered: A dedicated careers programme for those who graduated in the last three years.
WBS launches Alumni Empowered at The Shard
On Monday 14 September, Warwick Business School officially launched Alumni Empowered, a new careers programme designed exclusively for WBS graduates in the first three years after completing their degree.
What is Alumni Empowered?
The early years after graduation can be some of the most demanding of a professional career. Alumni Empowered exists to support graduates through that period, offering monthly expert masterclasses, exclusive live events, one-to-one careers consultations, and on-demand resources. The programme is built around the realities of today's job market, including AI-driven recruitment, global mobility, and the evolving nature of work itself.
As part of the wider WBS community of Change Makers, members of Alumni Empowered gain access to a network of peers and professionals, along with the guidance and tools to keep building their careers with confidence.

Inside the launch event
The day offered something for every stage of the employability journey. Attendees could book one-to-one careers consultations throughout the day, take part in a facilitated networking session where they crafted and practised their elevator pitch, and connect with fellow alumni and WBS staff at an alumni showcase.
The day also featured a keynote from Ritchie Mehta, WHSmith No.1 bestselling author, executive educator, and a leading voice on marketing leadership and career development. This was followed by a panel discussion with five alumni and industry professionals: Ruth Powell, Leadership Mentor and Non-Executive Director; Apostolos Alexandris, Chartered Chemical Engineer and Head of Customer Success; Nicola Graham, Operator and Fractional CSO in Sport and Performance Tech; Janvi Pahuja, Premium Marketing Executive; and Saumya Singh, Marketing and Community Growth Manager working across AI startups and D2C brands.
Kate Friend, Director of CareersPlus and Employer Relations at WBS, said: "Alumni Empowered is about making sure our graduates don't have to navigate the early years of their careers alone. The job market is complex and fast-moving, and this programme gives our alumni the tools, the connections and the confidence to keep progressing. Seeing so many of our recent graduates come together at The Shard for the launch was a real reminder of just how strong this community is."
What's coming up
Alumni Empowered has a packed schedule of events and masterclasses. This month's focus is CVs and LinkedIn, and September also sees the start of a series of India-focused careers events covering job hunting strategies, CV writing, and interview techniques for the Indian market.
This month, neuroscientist and Sunday Times bestselling author Tj Power joins for a science-led virtual keynote on the four brain chemicals that shape how we feel and perform. In October, Jeremy Schifeling, author of the No.1 bestselling AI and LinkedIn career books and former Google and LinkedIn employee, leads a session on navigating today's AI-driven hiring landscape.
Masterclasses continue monthly, covering everything from salary negotiation and personal branding to resilience and portfolio careers.
