Why choose WBS in London? Here's what our MBAs had to say

18 July 2022

Academic Standard and Flexibility

There are three main reasons why I chose Warwick Business School. First, I chose WBS for its high academic standard and its renowned research specialisms. Secondly, as the lectures take place in the evenings at The Shard, it is very convenient to commute from my office in London. Lastly, I chose WBS for the flexibility the programme offers. Juggling between a full-time job, a young daughter, and starting my micro-business, the only times I could study were after weekday working hours, during my train commutes and late night when my daughter is asleep. WBS’s London base location at The Shard and its programme structure allow me to balance and achieve my schedules.

Diversity

As an international student, I find myself constantly beguiled by the beauty of hidden gems around London. London is a mix of old and new, with a unique charm and rich history, becoming one of the world’s premiere places to study. Having joined the Executive MBA programme at WBS London, The Shard, I was given the opportunity to learn alongside like-minded individuals, leading the charge for change. I’m grateful to be a part of such a diverse cohort that is truly global. The experiences that we share are not confined to the walls of the classroom, instead it extends to the various countries that we visit and to the lives that we touch.

Support and Guidance

The reason I picked WBS was its rankings, the diversity of the cohort and the different industry. A big part of it was the admissions process - from day one you get allocated a Recruitment Coordinator. You’re not treated like a conveyor belt. They take the real time and care to make it a personal journey and I really liked that experience. Who doesn’t want to be seen as an individual? WBS did that right from the go, whilst other business schools didn’t. It set a very different tone. I thought to myself, I want to have a relationship with this place for my life. I felt safe in their hands and felt they were really rooting for me.

The Learning Environment

A significant factor in deciding on which business school was the diversity of the cohort as I was aware that the learning in the classroom was driven by the professor’s teachings as well as the discussions generated by the students sharing their experiences. The conversations have been fascinating and it has been a tremendous learning experience so far – from the modules, the excellent professors and guest speakers, exploring new industries and domains through assignments and interacting with great professionals who have been fellow students in the modules. Another crucial benefit has been discovering facets about myself and planning the course ahead with the superlative WBS CareersPlus team through 1-2-1 support, group workshops and webinars.
