Finance for Non-Finance Leaders

During this session we will introduce you to the basics of financial reporting and the rules that guide it. Through the exploration of case studies and real-world financial statements you will begin to demystify financial reporting and analysis and start to apply your learning to understanding your own organisations financial position.

The day will conclude with a chance to get to know your cohort with an evening dinner. 

During this session you will learn how to interrogate statement of profit and loss accounts, cash flow statements, and consolidated financial statements, allowing you to identify and interpret financial trends and anomalies.

Introducing BISSIM
This immersive business simulation provides a risk-free environment to experiment with strategy, to make decisions, and to show leadership, without any real-world consequences. The result is deeper understanding, stronger engagement, and learning that lasts.

To consolidate the programmes learning objectives, you will be invited to join an evening guest lecture with an Industry Guest Speaker. This event will include Drinks and Canapes, offering the opportunity for participants to deepen their new networks.

During this session you will gain an understanding financial analysis approaches, enabling you to make informed and strategic financial decisions and to evaluate financial health and performance effectively.

BISSIM continued
The exercise runs over several rounds, each representing a year. In each round, you analyse a scenario, make decisions, review simulated results, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

After the days teaching you will have the opportunity to continue to build your professional network through a WBS hosted evening dinner in London, with key note speaker, Keiran Macguire, Price of Football to help you further reflect on what you have learnt and its application.
