Career-boost: Undergraduate students at WBS can access extensive careers support, something that helped the University of Warwick rank fourth in the UK for 'graduate salaries'
The University of Warwick has climbed one place to fifth in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027, with Warwick Business School ranked number one in the country for Marketing.
Published to coincide with UK A-level results being released, the Daily Mail University Guide 2027 has rated WBS second in the country for Accounting and third for Finance.
The latest rankings recognise Warwick’s strength in delivering excellent student outcomes, with the University ranked fourth for 'graduate salaries' and seventh for 'high-skilled jobs', which measures the proportion of graduates gaining professional-level employment after completing their course.
It follows Warwick Business School being named the top Russell Group business school for Business and Management courses by students in the National Student Survey published last month.
Andy Lockett, Dean of WBS and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, said: “These rankings are particularly pleasing because they recognise not only the academic quality of Warwick, but also our success in helping students build meaningful and impactful careers.
“Being ranked first in the UK for Marketing, alongside our strong performances in Accounting and Finance, reflects our commitment to combining world-class teaching with practical, real-world learning. We collaborate closely with employers, industry partners, and alumni to ensure our students develop the skills, confidence and experiences needed to thrive in a rapidly changing global economy.
“Warwick Business School is for the Change Makers. We develop our students to have the creativity and leadership skills to make a positive difference in organisations, communities, and society. We want our graduates to not just imagine the future - but to make it."
The University of Warwick has also been ranked sixth for 'first year completion', with 97.6 per cent finishing their inaugural academic year.
With its own CareersPlus team and an Employer Relations department, WBS students have access to one-to-one career coaching, career planning workshops, employer-led events from the likes of EY, L’Oreal, Aston Martin and Johnson & Johnson, and work placements or internships.
Plus, all Undergraduate courses come with the option of a placement year, where students have the chance to build valuable work experience, expand their professional network, and gain confidence in real-world business settings. Students have gained placements at the likes of financial services firms Accenture and Deloitte, luxury car brand Porsche, and tech giant Samsung.
Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President, University of Warwick, said: “With thousands of students and families thinking carefully about their next steps, it is a real source of pride to see Warwick recognised among the country’s top five universities.
"This is not simply about a league table position; it reflects the strength of our academic community, the support we give to our students, and the opportunities a Warwick education opens up.
"At Warwick, we are ambitious for our students and for the contribution they will go on to make in the world. Our task is to offer an education that is rigorous, creative, and supportive, and to create a community in which people can challenge themselves, discover new possibilities and thrive. I look forward to welcoming our new and returning students in the weeks ahead.”
Warwick strengthens position in UK and global university rankings
The rise to fifth place overall continues Warwick’s strong performance in national and international league tables and reflects the University’s sustained focus on delivering exceptional teaching, student support, and graduate outcomes.
This includes climbing six places to 68th in the QS World University Rankings, being recommended by nine-in-10 Warwick students in the National Student Survey, and rising two places to seventh nationally and being named the number one university in the West Midlands by the Complete University Guide.
Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Institutional Lead for Rankings, University of Warwick, said: “These results are another strong indication of Warwick's continuing progress and growing reputation. They reflect the excellence, ambition and commitment that can be found across every part of our University community.
“What is particularly pleasing is that this recognition is underpinned by outcomes that matter deeply to students and their families, from graduate success and student experience to the strength of our academic disciplines.
“To see six subjects ranked first in the UK, alongside our position in the national top five, speaks to the breadth and depth of Warwick's excellence. Rankings matter because they help prospective students, academic partners and employers understand the quality and impact of an institution.
“These results reinforce Warwick's standing as one of the world's leading universities and give us, our students, and our global partners, confidence as we continue to pursue our ambitions on the global stage.”
