Ready for the AI age: Students at WBS, where the new MSc Business with Digital Strategy & Artificial Intelligence will launch this September
With the AI age upon us Warwick Business School has unveiled a new Master’s course to equip the next generation of business leaders with the digital, analytical and strategic capabilities needed.
The MSc Business with Digital Strategy & Artificial Intelligence will start in September with applications now open for a course that combines cutting-edge research with real-world application
It will give students a deep understanding of how machine learning, automation, data science, and generative AI are reshaping industries and the strategic leadership skills required to harness these technologies responsibly and effectively within organisations of all sizes.
Ross Ritchie, Associate Dean (Postgraduate Business and Management Programmes), said: “Every industry is experiencing rapid digital transformation, and leaders who can navigate both the technical and strategic dimensions of AI are in exceptionally high demand. This course has been designed to meet that need.
“Students will graduate with not only the analytical skills to understand AI systems, but also the strategic insight to deploy them in ways that drive innovation, resilience and growth.”
Professor Ritchie revealed the new Master’s course was designed with input from employers, industry experts, and alumni working at leading firms in consulting, finance, technology and consumer industries.
“We know businesses are looking for graduates who can bridge the gap between data specialists and senior decision-makers,” said Professor Ritchie. “This course develops precisely that profile: professionals who are fluent in both business strategy and intelligent technologies, and who understand the ethical, social and operational implications of deploying AI at scale.”
With modules on core business disciplines alongside lectures in digital strategy and AI, students will be able to apply theory to real-world industry cases.
And at the end of the Master’s students can choose between doing a traditional 6,000-word dissertation or take the Business in Practice module. This is where students work in teams, competing in an industry simulation before writing up their experience.
Strong employer links boost graduate career prospects
WBS has strong links with many top companies and according to High Fliers Research’s 2026 Graduate Market Report University of Warwick graduates were targeted by the fourth largest number of top employers among UK universities.
Master’s students at WBS also have access to the School’s dedicated MSc CareersPlus and Employer Relations team, who have a wealth of experience and employer connections across a wide variety of sectors, and are on hand with advice, guidance and skills training.
Professor Ritchie said: “Graduates of the MSc Business with Digital Strategy & Artificial Intelligence will be equipped for an exceptional breadth of career paths across sectors. Whether they choose to become Digital Strategy Consultants, AI Transformation Leads, Product Managers in AI-enabled solutions, or specialists in technology governance, innovation, automation, and data strategy, our students will leave ready to step into high impact roles.
"Warwick Business School’s world leading expertise in management research and digital innovation sits at the core of this new Master’s course.

As AI continues to redefine industries, this programme reflects our mission to develop the Change Makers who will guide that transformation."
