High-calibre talent: Recruiters praised the intellectual curiosity and innovation of WBS students
The latest employment data from Warwick Business School (WBS) points to robust demand for its Master’s graduates, with students securing roles across technology, finance and consulting.
With 72 per cent of graduates participating in the survey, the MSc Employment Report for the Graduating Class of 2025 reveals strong outcomes for graduates across all major programmes in the first six months after completing their course.
The average salary across Warwick Business School’s portfolio reached $67,424 (PPP-adjusted), with several courses far exceeding that figure.
The quantitative programmes recorded the strongest remuneration levels. Graduates of the MSc Mathematical Finance earned an average salary of $92,815, the highest among all the courses, while graduates of MSc Finance and Economics and MSc Finance earned average salaries of $81,306 and $75,186, respectively.
Students who had forged an understanding of how to translate data into business value fared well too with the MSc Business Analytics (now the MSc Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence) reporting an average salary of $71,541.
Employment rates were equally strong. The MSc Finance cohort reported 100 per cent employment within six months, while the MSc Management programme achieved 100 per cent employment or self-employment in the same period.
Job roles across all the programmes included AI Analyst, Investment Banker and Strategy Consultant.
Praise for WBS graduates
Recruiters from major global firms praised the calibre and versatility of WBS graduates.
CGI’s Director Consultant Expert, Kev Jones, credited the School’s emphasis on intellectual rigour. Its “diverse students consistently demonstrate critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and innovation”, he said.
“We value the high-calibre talent that WBS and the University of Warwick constantly nurture, enabling strong outcomes in complex environments.”
At IBM, UK University Lead John McNamara emphasised the enthusiasm and eagerness of WBS graduates to learn. “Their fresh perspectives can lead to innovative solutions and a dynamic work environment,” he said.
Consumer goods group pladis Global described working with WBS students on projects as mutually beneficial.
“Having the talented students of WBS working on projects for us stretches and challenges our thinking, which often brings a new viewpoint to our business approach,” said UK&I Impulse Sales Director Florence Brain.
How does the WBS careers team help?
Many graduates point to the School’s CareersPlus & Employer Relations team as central to their success.
Bolu Buraimoh, now a Learning & Operations Specialist at the British Red Cross, said that the tailored guidance she received helped her secure a role that blends purpose with practice.
The careers team “offered clear direction to me, with advice tailored to my personal aspirations and passions”, said the graduate of the MSc Management of Information Systems & Digital Innovation.
“My MSc experience at Warwick honed my critical thinking, which has been indispensable in a dynamic, systems-driven role.”
Similar praise came from previous cohorts, including graduates now working at IBM, EY, National Grid and JP Morgan.
“Whether you’re sure on a set career path or are still exploring, I couldn’t recommend the careers team enough,” said National Grid Project Manager Toyin Kolude, who graduated from the MSc International Business in 2023.
“They gave me the knowledge, confidence, skills and leads to get ahead in my journey, and made me feel so reassured and excited for my next steps after graduating.”
