04 February 2026

Discover how current MSc students, Min Anh Le and Sakshi Sakle, secured their scholarships, strengthened their applications, and built their paths to WBS.

Why choose to study your MSc at Warwick Business School?

Minh Anh: Studying abroad had been a dream for as long as I can remember, even though no one in my family had ever pursued education overseas. When I discovered the MSc Business Analytics (now MSc Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence) course at WBS, I immediately felt that it aligned with everything I was looking for.

It offered rigorous analytical learning, the chance to apply skills to real-world challenges, and an international environment where I could grow both academically and personally. The school’s academic reputation, global community and strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making made it the right place for me.

Sakshi: I had always hoped to study at a globally recognised institution like WBS. My course, MSc Management, and the school itself appealed to me not only because of its outstanding reputation but also because most MSc applicants are automatically considered for scholarships. That made the process feel more accessible and encouraged me to create an application that genuinely reflected my experiences, motivations and aspirations.

How can you strengthen your MSc scholarship application?

Minh Anh: Preparing for my scholarship started years before I applied. I took part in academic competitions, engaged in extracurricular activities, and consistently sought opportunities that broadened my perspective and sharpened my analytical mindset.

These experiences shaped the foundation of my application and allowed me to demonstrate my curiosity and commitment to growth. When I received the 30% tuition-fee scholarship, it felt like recognition of all the challenges I had embraced along the way and the effort I had invested in building my profile.

Sakshi: My application was strengthened by several aspects of my background. I highlighted my strong academic performance in Computer Engineering, and I focused on the impact of my work at Dell Technologies rather than just listing responsibilities.

My personal statement was a particularly important element; I wrote honestly about why I wanted to transition into marketing and management, what I hoped to gain from the MSc, and why WBS felt like the ideal next step for me.

I also shared meaningful experiences such as my volunteering work, participation in the McKinsey Forward programme and leadership roles that shaped who I am. Applying early also helped ensure my application was considered at the right time.

What can a WBS scholarship do for you?

Minh Anh: Receiving the scholarship meant far more than financial support. I remember rereading the email several times in disbelief because it represented the validation of all the hard work I had invested over the years. It felt like someone across the world recognised my potential even before meeting me.

For my family, it brought a sense of pride and hope, and for me, it gave me confidence and reassurance that the dream I had held onto since I was young was finally becoming real.

Sakshi: For me, the scholarship lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. It made it possible for me to begin my MSc feeling confident instead of anxious about the financial strain it could bring to my family. It was deeply reassuring to know that my journey and my efforts had been recognised. It felt like a moment of validation that encouraged me to embrace this new chapter wholeheartedly.

What’s it like to study a Master’s at Warwick?

Minh Anh: The MSc Business Analytics programme has been both intense and incredibly rewarding. Modules such as Optimisation and Analytics in Practice have completely reshaped how I understand data and decision-making. Working alongside classmates from different continents has felt like being part of a truly global workplace, full of diverse perspectives and shared learning.

The support from the WBS MSc CareersPlus & Employer Relations team has also been invaluable in helping me refine my CV, prepare for interviews and consider the direction I want my career to take.

Sakshi: WBS has helped me grow academically, professionally and personally. The structure of the programme, the diverse learning environment and the support from CareersPlus have played a significant role in helping me reflect on my goals and build confidence in my next steps. It has been a space that encourages growth, clarity and self-development.

Advice for MSc students applying for a scholarship

Minh Anh: My biggest advice is to be authentic. Your personal story is powerful, and it matters. Start early, reflect on your experiences and make sure your application clearly connects your past with your future aspirations. It’s easy to underestimate your own journey, but perseverance and sincerity often speak the loudest.

Sakshi: I encourage applicants to take the time to craft a personal statement that truly reflects who they are. Focus on the impact you’ve had in your academic, professional or personal life, and don’t be afraid to talk about the experiences that shaped you.

Show leadership in ways that are meaningful to you, highlight your growth, and apply early. Above all, believe that you are deserving, scholarships are not just about achievements; they’re about potential, passion and purpose.
