Behavioural design - crossing the divide between research and practice.
The Behavioural Design Lab is a new collaboration between Warwick Business School and the Design Council, uniting behavioural science with design-thinking to tackle big social issues. Crossing the divide from research to practice is a challenge. Academia is often criticised for undervaluing the design of interventions, while creative industries are accused of neglecting evidence. Fundamentally the two must work together to help organisations innovate. I will give a brief introduction to behavioural design and lead a discussion on how scientific methods can be integrated into the design process to ensure the development of ideas is rapid, evidence appears quickly, and interventions can be scaled-up in the real-world.
Join us for light refreshments (coffee/tea and biscuits) before the Forum at 2.15 p.m.
