This panel event will explore the challenges that women face in finance, as even though in other sectors female diversity is making progress, the finance sector is still lagging behind.

What are the reasons and what are the solutions? Our panel of speakers will discuss the strategies they have used and ways to help overcome potential barriers.

Sian Heath-Halley, Knowledge Manager and co-chair of the KNOW network, KPMG UK

Sian Heath-Halley is a Tax Knowledge Manager for KPMG. Sian’s background is in knowledge management, legal information management and research, studying English Literature at Lancaster before a postgrad in Information Science at City University, London. She has worked for a number of law firms in London including Clyde & Co, Sidley Austin and Baker & McKenzie, before moving to PwC and later KPMG in Birmingham. Sian has been leading KPMG’s Network of Women in the Midlands since 2014. The network aims to enhance and optimise opportunities for women to succeed across senior grades at KPMG and drive forward the cultural change required to actively support KPMG women in achieving their potential across all disciplines, grades and functions. Mina Cao, Insurance Strategist,Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Mina Cao, Insurance Asset Management Strategist, Goldman Sachs Asset Management. She advises insurance companies in EMEA and Asia on multi asset investments strategies including fixed income, equity and alternatives, focusing on Asset Liability Management, Strategic Asset Allocation, Capital Efficiency and Investment Trends. Prior to joining GSAM, Mina worked in a hedge fund focusing on commodity algorithmic trading and strategy. She graduated with a First Class Honours degree and a Master degree in Applied Mathematics from National University of Singapore, where she obtained President's honour roll and Lijen Industrial Development Medal. She also obtained Diplome d'Ingenieur from Ecole Polytechnique and master in Probability and Finance from the Pierre-and-Marie-Curie University in France.

Nandini Ramakrishnan, Global Market Strategy, J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Nandini Ramakrishnan is part of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Global Market Insights Strategy Team, based in London. She co-authors the Guide to the Markets and other key Market Insights publications relating to macroeconomic and market dynamics. She provides outlooks for clients and media outlets (BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg) and writes a weekly column for Financial Times Adviser. Nandini holds a degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, and has previously worked in asset-backed debt securities structuring in the J.P. Morgan Investment Bank in the US.

Katherine Lee, Product Manager, Thomson Reuters

Katherine Lee currently works in Product management for FATCA/CRS at Thomson Reuters. She is heavily involved in internal networks and initiatives for both earlier careers and for women working in the industry. Previously to this role Katherine was on a two year graduate program at the company where she worked in teams specialising in FX and FI, Risk as well as project managing an initiative on innovation. She currently volunteers her spare time between two UK based charities that inspire and enable woman and young people to become professionals across multiple industries. Katherine is also on our Warwick finance network committee and has been involved in the network for two years.
