Beesley Lecture: Dr Mike Walker

Dr Mike Walker is the Chief Economic Advisor of the UK Competition and Markets Authority responsible for mergers and cartels in the UK.

Dr Walker will be giving his Beesley Lecture on 'Behavioural Economics: The Lessons for Regulators'.  He will discuss the biases that exist in consumer choice decisions, the implications that has for well-functioning markets, including in finance, and the possible regulatory solutions.

This lecture is very relevant for masters and PhD students as it will cover what we know about how decisions are made in real economic contexts.
