An interactive experiment with Behavioural Science and WBS Create
Team working is central to business success. One model of successful team work is the theatre ensemble. But how do these teams work and what can we learn from them about successful team-work in business?
In this workshop we will try and explore some of the science behind collaboration and team work in a joint experiment with Behavioural Science.
Using a simple online experiment and then engaging in a series of theatre-based activities, this workshop explores whether our attitude to collaboration is altered by participating in activities that claim to build trust and rapport within a group. This workshop takes the theatre ensemble as a model for a highly functioning creative team and is in two parts:
- Participants engage in a workshop as actors and experience some of the processes that theatre directors use to create the relationships and build the trust that is necessary for teams of this kind to function.
- They then participate in an online experiment in the Behavioural Science labs, next door to the Create Space, and explore the connections between collaborative behaviours as experienced in performance and the traits identified in the laboratory.
