Business Leader Series presents Sue Rasmussen, MD, BAML

Join us on Thursday, 07 September 2017, at Warwick and hear from Sue Rasmussen, Head of Macro Hedge Funds Sales (FX and Rates), EMEA at BAML. Sue will be discussing her journey from Warwick Business School to Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  She will talk about leadership in Banks using Unconscious Bias, ESG, TeamCare etc and why it matters.  The second part of the discussion will give you hints and tips on 'How to lead your own company'.  This will involve a fireside chat with Dean James, CEO Sixth Plc,  Warwick MBA (class of 1990).

This year represents a significant milestone for WBS as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary. WBS has always been an innovative and forward-thinking school and this is the ideal time to look at how we shape the next 50 years. Our Business Leader events will run after a MBA module and as such limited spaces are made available to the MBA student groups.

Speaker Biographies

Sue Rasmussen, Head of Macro Hedge Funds Sales (FX and Rates), EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Sue has over 25 years of Global Markets experience, specializing early on in her career in Foreign Exchange. She began her career at RBS Markets, has worked at Lehman Brothers and spent 10 years at ANZ, where she was Head of FX Sales for Europe and Northern America and was a member of the Global Leadership Team. Sue has been based in London for the majority of her career but also worked in Singapore.

Presently, Sue is a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, having joined in 2009. She was a senior member of the Global Foreign Exchange management team with specific responsibility in Institutional sales. In early 2017 she was promoted to Head the FICC Macro business with oversight over the FX and Rates Hedge Fund sales team.

Sue is prominent within BofAML in her emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion having served on many committees that promote DI within the workplace. She most recently chaired the Director promotion committee for the 2016/17 class for FICC globally.

Sue holds a BSc. (Hons) in Management Science from Warwick University.

Dean James, CEO at Sixth PLC

Dean has led two of the most successful growth businesses in the live music industry. In 2000 he floated Mean Fiddler’s dotcom business before its eventual sale to Live Nation for £55m in 2005.  In April 2005 Dean co-founded MAMA Group, which became one of the UK’s largest live music and artist management groups before its sale to HMV for £64m in February 2010.  In 2014 Dean set up Sixth Media, a holding company for various businesses in the music and media sectors. 

Dean qualified as a lawyer and worked in strategic roles at Inchcape before joining Ernst & Young and then starting to work in the music industry. Dean has an MBA from WBS.
