The Cost-of-Living Crisis is becoming increasingly tangible for households in the UK, including here in the Midlands. October 2022 figures from the ONS report inflation for the 12 months to August at 9.9% or a 40-year high. At the same time, UK households are bracing for higher energy bills and increasing mortgage and rent costs. As well as spending less on essentials, using less energy at home, shopping around more, and working more hours, households are increasingly turning to consumer credit to make ends meet.
This event will bring together leading thinkers and industry experts from a diverse range of sectors who will share their insights and experiences on how to address the challenges of the Cost-of-Living crisis and provide hope for individuals to navigate a pathway forward.
This event is part of Warwick Midlands Network’s United in Hope, United for Humanity (UHUH) series, where speakers from government, academia, health, NGOs, private-public sector, charity and the voluntary sector convene and collaborate together to share their insights on how they have inspired and instilled hope through their work and activity to assist and provide relief during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond, to build a more sustainable future for everyone. The series is curated by Warwick Midlands Network Ambassador Kaleem Hussain FRSA courtesy of the WMN in association with Warwick Business School, University of Warwick.
This event is in collaboration with the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).
