WBS China Alumni Network: Official Launch Event

We are excited to invite you to our first formal, in-person WBS China Alumni Network event in Shanghai! On March 19 2024, Professor James Hayton, Vice-Provost and Faculty Chair of Social Sciences, will be officially launching the network and hosting an event on the topic of Innovation.

Open to all WBS Alumni living or working in China, this event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, and will bring together experts, enthusiasts, and curious minds to for some fascinating discussions regarding Innovation.

James Hayton

James Hayton, PhD (Georgia State University) is Vice-Provost and Faculty Chair of Social Sciences. He holds a J. Robert Beyster Fellowship for the study of employee equity compensation and profit sharing at Rutgers University (US) and is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for the Future of Work. His areas of expertise are the management of people and organizations to build capacity for innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic renewal. Author of over 100 articles, reports, and several books in both innovation and human resource management, his work has been recognized with several awards and is rated as one of the world's top 2% of researchers by citations. James is currently investigating the adoption of AI into companies, as well as its implications.

Westin Xia

Westin Xia has 16 years of experience in the accounting and management consulting industries, specialising in transaction due diligence, market entry and business feasibility study, M&A and post integration, performance improvement and turnaround. Currently, he is Vice President at China City Industrial Group and Partner at Stakeholder Consulting Ltd. Prior to joining, he also held roles at companies including KPMG, EY-Parthenon, Baker-Tilly China, and RSM UK. Westin holds the position of Executive Chair – Beijing and Global MBA Ambassador in the WBS China Alumni Network, and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, graduating in 2016.

Min Ma

Min Ma is Senior Director of eCommerce at Adidas, where she is leading the TMALL and JD platform team that drives the majority of this global sportswear company’s China ecommerce business. With over 18 years of experience in the eCommerce and digital industry, Min has a proven track record of delivering innovative and engaging consumer experiences, optimizing digital operations and performance, and driving digital transformation and business results. Prior to her current position, Min has held roles at companies including Nike, Crocs, DFS, and McKinsey & Company. She holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, where she focused on strategy, marketing, finance, and management.

Yinnie Chan

Yinnie Chan is currently a Product Manager at seed-stage healthcare start-up Swedish Care, and is also a founding member. At Swedish Care, Yinnie leads a cross-functional team to bring on-demand primary healthcare to markets that need it most. Prior to joining Swedish Care, Yinnie held roles at Series B start-up Evereden and at multinational technology company Dyson. She holds a BSc in Management from Warwick Business School, graduating in 2019.

Hai Gong

Mr. Hai Gong obtained a Full Time MBA from Warwick Business School in 2000. He became a successful entrepreneur after many years of executive working experience in multinational companies in the USA. He is the President of G&W Precision Co., as well as five other companies covering different sectors including manufacturing, business consulting, education, and cultural exchange. Mr. Hai Gong has accumulated a wide range of resources and has strong links with both the business community and the government network in China.
