WBS South Africa Roundtable - Unlocking the African Opportunity – Education, Innovation & Investment
As part of the University of Johannesburg's 20-Year Celebration and international engagement visit to the UK, this high-level evening roundtable—hosted by Warwick Business School—will explore the strategic importance of Africa in the global economy, and the role education, innovation, and investment must play in realising the continent's potential.
Held at WBS's landmark campus at The Shard—a global hub for executive education, policy dialogue, and leadership development—the event underscores Warwick's growing commitment to Africa and its partnerships across the continent. Warwick Business School is consistently ranked among the world's top business schools and is known for its cutting-edge research, global perspective, and practical impact. Through a long-standing presence in South Africa and strong institutional ties across the continent, WBS is uniquely placed to convene this important dialogue.
The roundtable will examine the opportunities and challenges facing Africa in the coming decades—from scaling access to high-quality education and unleashing innovation ecosystems, to accelerating infrastructure investment and developing the next generation of leaders. The continent's growing youth population, digital transformation, and regional integration efforts (such as the AfCFTA) represent unprecedented possibilities for inclusive growth.
Leon Ayo, will moderate a dynamic panel featuring distinguished guests and UJ alumni from across sectors.
